Gavin Butt is an art historian and author of Between You and Me: Queer Disclosures in the New York Art World 1948-1963, Duke University Press, 2005 and editor of After Criticism: New Responses to Art and Performance, Blackwell, 2004. He is responsible for a programme of events and conferences organised for the project Performance Matters, funded by an AHRC Research Grant 2009-2012. He is reader in visual cultures at Goldsmiths University.
