Tess Jaray
Tess Jaray was born in 1937 and studied painting at St Martins School of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art, where she later taught until 1999. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, and has work in public collections including the Tate Gallery, the Arts Council and the British Museum.

Her most recent public exhibition of paintings is at East Gallery, Norwich, together with Alison Wilding.
She devoted the nineties to public commissions, and completed projects include Centenary Square Birmingham, Wakefield Cathedral Precinct, Jubilee Square at Leeds General Infirmary, and the forecourt for the new British Embassy in Moscow. Her most recent Public commission was the paving for St Marys Church, Nottingham, completed 2013.
In 2010 she was elected Royal Academician.
She lives and works in London.
