habits, cleavages and fractures is a one day pop-up exhibition staged by Graduate Sculpture students from the Slade School of Fine Art.
The format is experimental and open for ways of interpreting the specific space of the Rock Room and involves a number of objects and actions being inserted, tested and tried out within the geology collection.
This is a spontaneous event organised within a two-week turn-over. Emphasising a visceral and non-rationalised way of looking at the collection, the exhibition explores the space between an institutional frame and incongruous basic matter.
Date: Friday 31 May 2013, 1 -3pm
Venue: UCL Geology Collections, Rock Room, 1st Floor South Wing, UCL, Gower Street, London WC1 6BT, www.ucl.ac.uk/museums/geology.
