Zezi Ifore
Zezi Ifore is an artist, broadcaster and founder of ZIP, a culture- focussed creative consultancy whose clients and collaborators include Prada Mode, Art Dubai, Elevation 1049, London Design Festival, Tate, South London Gallery and the Venice Biennale.
Spanning film, textile, graphic communication and experiential interventions, her practice is centred on resisting hegemony and explores themes including alternative economies, agency and adornment.
As a broadcaster she presents and produces cultural documentaries for BBC World Service and is a longstanding resident on NTS Radio, hosting flagship arts and culture discussions including interviews with Luca Guadagnino, Jenn Nkiru and Mark Godfrey alongside monthly music shows.
Zezi produced the Mayor of London's Africa in London campaign in 2019 to celebrate the breadth and brilliance of African and Afro-Caribbean creativity in the capital and devised the Africa in London Forum to foster cultural exchange and resource-sharing which launched at London's Southbank Centre in February 2020.
In summer 2020, Zezi launched 6FT zine, a limited edition publication described by Vogue as a ‘joyous paen to solidarity’ with contributions from Anish Kapoor, Edward Enninful, Ib Kamara, Lady Phyll Opoku, Martin Parr and many more. 6FT was created in support of the UK QTIBIPOC Emergency Relief & Hardship Fund who received 100% of the profits.
Passionate about structural change and access to opportunity in the arts, Zezi sits on a number of cultural boards including Frieze 91 and is a founding member of Multitrack - an initiative working with the BBC and leading independent production companies to make the audio industry more representative.
