Caroline Jackson – BA/BFA
My work is process-led, exploring making and applying paint in all its performative glory. I strive for a sense of satisfaction and pleasure when looking, creating spaces that feel as though they are simultaneously coming together and falling apart. I want the experience of looking to be similar to the experience of making. My work treads a fine line of accident and intention. Paint does what it wants sometimes; with improvidence being essential: a feeling of dislike and uncertainty is always present, particularly at the start. However, the struggles of making are integral to my works success: in creating a space where my marks and materials can exist in harmony.
