Federico Arani – MA/MFA/PhD

Characterised by blurred boundaries and a healthy uncertainty in its self-definition, my multidisciplinary research is an ongoing reflection on the desire for contact and the tension arising from the clash between human and non-human localities and complex temporal diffusions. In addition to the production of paintings, my work includes the study and collection of found objects such as organic fragments, archaeological finds and, above all, ancient tools and lapsed body extensions, which are reactivated through material manipulations and sculptural processes. Within this reactivation, an ecosystem of new possibilities and narratives comes to life, creating, through a site-specific attitude and a cinematic lens, unstable and rhizomatic settings that never define certainties, but always invite to look for the right position to fit in.
