Based in London
I am an artist working across sound, sculpture, video and performance. Often utilising large scale installation, my work is informed by actions of storytelling, Deep Listening and collective engagement. Through a combination of electronic/synthesised sound, singing and vocalisation, I explore the material and relational properties of sound, and its resultant interaction between performer, space and audience. I aim to create space for shared listening as a means for greater communication and collective understanding. Over the last two years I have explored the sounds and actions of performative mourning, creating a series of sound pieces and sculptures, which play with ideas of lament and its transformative ability. This work has expanded into an interest in the resonant properties of the voice and the material properties of sound. Using live performance and relayed sound through speakers to create immersive, vocal, listening installations which accompany sculpture and moving image.
