Raphaella Pester – MA/MFA/PhD

My practice is based on themes of memory, preservation, and nature. I investigate these themes through a geometric language of abstraction, often using craft-based processes and printmaking. My work references the coastal landscape, British folklore, and early Twentieth Century mysticism. This research is an unearthing of histories, symbols, beliefs, and materials that form an understanding of my own past and our collective relationship to the natural world.
