The So Chau Yim Ping Distinguished Visiting Scholars and Artist-in-Residence Scheme is a residency programme, organised by the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong in collaboration with the Slade School of Fine Art.
Since 2016, six - eight emerging artists artists per year, current final year/recent MA/MFA/MPhil students, have been invited to work at the Kaitak Campus of the Academy of Visual Arts (Hong Kong Baptist University) for two months.
They are invited to take time and space away from their usual creative environment to reflect on their creative pursuits, develop their own creative practice, research on specific topics or, cultural issues. They are also invited to share their practice by presenting a seminar on their work/research to the public and participate in the Academy of Visual Art's research forum.
The new works produced are shown at the end of the residency in an exhibition or open studio.
