No Dominion
No Dominion, Fiorella Angelini, 2020

No Dominion is a video-essay in response to lockdown due to COVID-19. The name comes from the poem "And death shall have no dominion" by Dylan Thomas.

The video explores the concepts of landscape, territory, nature, and longing. It shows different projects, experiences, and voices in one narration about the relationship of the landscape from a constraining flat in London.

The research involves texts about psychogeography, material anthropology, art history, non-fiction literature, and online video games. Some of the authors mentioned are Victor Buchli, Christopher Tilley, Zygmunt Bauman, Susan Sontag, and Rebecca Solnit. The projects that appear in the video, raise questions about the land and its social relationship in times of digital crisis. Especially from a South American point of view, were the implications of the landscape and its social memory are a reflection of society and the economic culture. It also incorporates a social aspect, showing a "collaborative landscape", a project that I started in 2018 and is now developing in the online digital space. It could be said that it is a collage that begins with an analogous mediation reprocessed in the online space.

Other ideas involved in the video are immigration, friendship, power, urban landscape, access, digital mediations, identity, and language in the digital era.
