Global  Photographies  was founded in spring 2020, in the first wave of the Coronavirus pandemic. It recognised an opportunity: teaching online allowed photographers, students, writers curators and academics to connect and collaborate across borders.

Global Photographies is rooted in exchange and a concern to de-centre and decolonise photographic practice. It aims to share knowledge and tools, organise talks, workshops and academic seminars, and give space to expansive contextual and conceptually adventurous approaches to the photographic.

The partnership of Global Photographies includes academics, artists, photographers, writers, curators and publishers, and seeks to grow to access and work with practices around the world.

The network welcomes expressions of interest for potential partnerships academically and professionally.
