This project, led by PhD student Jasmir Creed and Professor Sharon Morris, is significant in its aim of decolonisation of the curriculum and the museum. It is funded by the Slade School of Fine Art and the Institute of Advanced Studies, UCL.

InterWorlds comprises a series of talks by external speakers, in conversation with Slade staff and students. The project has a long-term aim of a symposium, data archive, exhibition, and publication.

It develops from dialogues on decolonisation in the arts at the Slade, University of the Arts London, British Art Network supported by Tate and the Paul Mellon Centre for British Art Studies, Asia Triennial Manchester, and includes Jasmir Creed's contribution to a symposium organised by the Race and Racialisation PhD Group at the Sarah Parker Remond Centre, UCL, on the study of racism and racialisation.

The project aims to increase knowledge of the transcultural and contribute to decolonising the curriculum highlighting how the transcultural enriches art practice as a vital means for connecting ideas and people and development in contemporary art. It promotes considerations of how cultural hybridities form through interrelations between elements from a range of sources.

The Interworlds talk series is supported by the Institute of Advanced Studies and by the Slade School of Fine Art at University College London.
