During the Spring of 2008, Vince Dziekan was a visiting research fellow with Slade Centre for Electronic Media (SCEMFA), based at Slade Research Centre, Woburn Square. Vince is a Melbourne-based artist/curator/writer whose practice encompasses image arts, new media and curatorial projects.
During his residency, Vince developed his practice-based research project centred on curatorial design and how exhibitions might be mediated through digital technology. In association with UCL’s Grant Museum of Zoology, his studio investigation lead directly to the realization of the multimedia artwork, The Ammonite Order, Or Objectiles for an (Un)Natural History, which was subsequently featured at ISEA2009 at Ormeau Baths Gallery in Belfast.
Dr Vince Dziekan is currently Director of Graduate Research in Design in the Faculty of Art Design & Architecture at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia). His first book, Virtuality and the Art of Exhibition: Curatorial Design for the Multimedial Museum, was recently published by Intellect, UK.
