Kate Hopkins (born 1964), lives and works in London.

A painter, with still life at the heart of her practice. Working always from direct observation, she has a particular interest in the nature of visual perception, which underpins her teaching.

She studied at the Slade from 1985-1991 BA(Hons) and HDFA),where she was awarded the Boise Travel Scholarship, the Elizabeth Greenshields Award and the Duveen Travel Scholarship.

She currently teaches at Heatherleys and the Slade, and is represented by Browse and Darby. Her work is held in numerous private collections.
